HairMax LaserComb Review

Overview

The HairMax LaserComb takes a two fold approach to energize the weakened hair follicles. The process involves both increased vascularization and cellular metabolism. The laser energy has been proven to improve the circulation and blood flow to the scalp and this increase promotes healthy hair follicles. Important nutrients can now flow into the follicle while taking away harmful DHT. The hair follicle becomes healthy and now prevent s further hair loss and stimulates the re-growth of hair.

The Hairmax LaserComb has been cleared for marketing by the FDA for the promotion of hair growth in males with Androgenetic Alopecia who have Norwood Hamilton Classifications of IIa-V and Fitzpatrick Skin Types I to IV.

About Androgenic Alopecia

Androgenic alopecia is caused by a variety of environmental and genetic factors. Researchers continue to study these factors but most are still unknown. This kind of hair loss is associated with hormones called androgens, expecially one called dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Androgens are necessary during puberty for normal male sexual development. They also regulate the hair growth and sex drive in both men and women. A genetic sensitivity of hair follicles to DHT causes them to shrink, casuing male pattern baldness. The shortened lifespan stops normal hair production.

Hair loss is a common problem that affects men and women worldwide. There are many causes of hair loss, so treatments vary based on the type of hair loss the sufferer is experiencing. From traumatic alopecia to vitamin deficiencies, the causes of hair loss can vary greatly from each individual. It is best to get advice and care from a physician or dermatologist anytime you experience an increase in hair loss, there are some common causes you may be able to identify as problems for you. If so, make adjustments to your lifestyle and see if your hair loss stops.

Hair loss can be caused by traumatic alopecia. This involves twisting, pulling, tugging or otherwise putting undue stress on the hair. Wearing a tight pony tail holder every day in the same place, wearing a tight fitting ball cap daily, or wearing other items or styling in ways that cause friction to hair strands can cause traumatic alopecia.

Androgenetic alopecia, also known as male pattern baldness, is another form of hair loss. The causes of hair loss in androgenetic alopecia sufferers probably stem from a genetic factor. In androgenetic alopecia sufferers, hair follicles are sensitive to a hormone called DHT. This sensitivity causes the follicle to shrink and prevents them from growing and reaching full density and maturity.

Sometimes, the causes of hair loss are fungal or bacterial. Ring worm, psoriasis and eczema can cause hair loss. Often, hair loss resulting from fungal or bacterial origins will present in a hairless patch or multiple patches. These patches exhibit a tell-tale black dot pattern of broken hairs along with itching, scaling, inflammation and pustules.

Causes of hair loss can also be traced to medication. Many medications for hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism, in particular, inhibit healthy hair growth and cause problems in the hair, skin and nails of patients prescribed them. In these types of cases, once the medication is altered or stopped, hair loss lessens and hair eventually returns to a normal state. Chemotherapy and radiation are other common causes of hair loss. These treatments usually result in the loss of all facial and scalp hair that will eventually grow back once treatments are finished. Many chemotherapy and radiation patients simply shave their heads to avoid the inevitable hair loss associated with their treatments and report having thicker, fuller hair once it grows back.

No matter what the causes of hair loss are, sufferers want a solution. If your hair loss stems from friction, styling, or medication, alter your routines and see if your hair loss stops. If your hair loss seems to have a genetic component, talk with your physician to see if there is a hair loss treatment like HairMax that is right for you. Talk with a cosmetologist to get the best styling and product advice and to get a cut and color that will make the most of the hair you have. The causes of hair loss are certainly numerous, but so are the tools, professionals, and treatments to help combat it.
