PrebioThrive Review

2.48/5 (25 votes)

The gut is the source of all diseases, said Hippocrates. And, rightly so! Our gut contains ten times more bacteria that can influence our health than the rest of your body. Over 100 trillion organisms live here, making up almost ¾ of our immune system.

But, in spite of the role our gut plays in supporting our metabolism, promoting healthy digestion and elimination, and protecting us from infection, we usually overlook the function of our gastrointestinal system. Until a digestive problem hits us, that is.

In our quest to understand how the health of our gut affects our overall well-being, we’ve learned that Americans don’t consume enough prebiotics. Yes, you’ve read that correctly: prebiotics, not probiotics (we’ll explain the difference in a second.)

That’s how we’ve learned about PrebioThrive by Gundry MD, a prebiotic supplement that promises to improve digestion by helping the good bacteria in your gut, flourish.

Does it work?

Let’s find out together!

What Is PrebioThrive?

PrebioThrive is a dietary supplement that combines five powerful prebiotic ingredients that can improve the health of your digestive system. The ingredients create a thriving environment for the good bacteria, which in turn can lead to healthy digestion and an overall feeling of wellness.

By including PrebioThrive in your diet, you should feel lighter and more energized than before. The formula promises to reduce bloating and constipation, increase your energy levels, and improve your health.

The Difference between Probiotics and Prebiotics

Most people are familiar with probiotics and understand the role they play in the health of their digestive systems, but few of them have heard about prebiotics. That can be a problem since prebiotics are vital and support your microbiome.

When good bacteria predominate in your gut, you feel fantastic. Your metabolism works like a well-oiled machine, your weight stays at healthy levels, and you are energized, and focused.

When bad bacteria are in control, on the other hand, you struggle more than usual. You gain weight fast and can’t seem to be able to lose it. You feel sluggish, cranky, and anxious. More than that, your body is more prone to infections like colds, yeast infection, flu, and so on.

That’s why probiotics and prebiotics are vital to our health.

So, what’s the difference between them?

Well, probiotics are live cultures that can improve the health of your gut. They are usually found in capsules, powders, and supplements or foods like yogurt, kefir, and kombucha. The problem with probiotics is that they are sensitive to the acidity levels in your stomach and can be killed easily.

Prebiotics, on the other hand, are non-digestive food ingredients that nourish your gut and promote the growth of good bacteria.

How do the PrebioThrive Ingredients Work?

This supplement contains five fiber-rich ingredients that are known to promote healthy digestion:

  • Acacia Gum: This plant contains more fiber by weight than any other food on the planet.
  • Flaxseed: This food is rich in fiber as well as Omega-3. It also has powerful antioxidant properties.
  • Guar Gum: Rich in fiber, this plant normalizes the moisture content in your stool.
  • Agave Inulin: Although it has a sweet and delicious taste, the Agave Inulin has minimal impact on your blood sugar level.`
  • Galacto-oligosaccharides: This prebiotic has been shown to improve mineral absorption and improve the functions of your immune system.

How to Take PrebioThrive?

One scoop of PrebioThrives contains just 25 calories, less than one gram of sugar, 7 grams of carbs, and 7 grams of dietary fiber (that’s 28% of the recommended daily value.)

All you have to do is take one scoop of this formula and mix it with water, tea, smoothie or any beverage of your choice. Gundry MD recommends that you take PrebioThrive first thing in the morning. For maximum effects, he also recommends taking it together with a probiotic.

Is PrebioThrive Safe?

PrebioThrive uses only 100% natural ingredients. The content of every batch is formulated in the US at their CGMP-certified facility. Then, a 3rd party lab, tests it once again for purity and dosage. The formula is also sugar-free, soy-free, lecithin-free, and artificial sweetener-free.

To our knowledge, there aren’t any side effects to taking PrebioThrive. There aren’t any limitations either. As a supplement designed to improve the health of the gastrointestinal system,

PrebioThrive can be taken by anyone who wants to improve their digestion and overall well-being.

However, you need to remember that this is just a dietary supplement, not a medicine. Therefore, it can’t and shouldn’t be used to treat serious health conditions nor replace prescription meds.

Overall, PrebioThrive is safe to take, and you will not experience any side effects. But, just to be on the safe side, consult with your physician before including any supplements in your diet.

How Much Does PrebioThrive Cost?

One bottle of PrebioThrive costs $79, and it will last you for 30 days. The shipping is free.

Gundry MD has so much confidence in the effectiveness of PrebioThrive that he’ll offer a 90-days money back guarantee deal. If after 90 days you don’t see a noticeable change in your digestion and are not satisfied with the results, they will give you your money back.

All you have to do is contact one of their support reps, and they’ll refund you fast and hassle-free.

About Gundry MD

Dr. Steven Gundry is a well-known name in the world of supplements, with several other well known products including Vital Reds, Lectin Shield and Total Restore. He worked for over three decades as a heart surgeon and medical researcher. He has extensive knowledge in the medical field, which gives him a lot of legitimacy.

Parting Thoughts

In theory, you could get fiber from your diet without spending $79 on a special supplement. The problem is that most people today eat foods rich in fats and sugar, and not enough fruits, vegetables, and nuts.

If you know your diet isn’t as healthy as it should be, then it would be wise to include Prebiothrive in your regime. Make sure to mix it with probiotic supplements or foods to supercharge your digestive system.

I absolutely love the product. I came across this looking for solutions to what was seemingly IBS, severe bloating and chronic constipation. i have always been a super healthy and fit person. I am not one for medications and poking and prodding by doctors. I tried one jar for 30 days. By day three, I IMMEDIATELY felt relief from the bloating. By day 5 the constipation was gone. By the end of the week, I had no symptoms of IBS. I continued the rest of the first 30 days. I ordered the second jar and by time I waited for it to arrive, I felt the bloating again and the constipation coming back. When my new jar arrived I started immediately taking my scoopful mixed in my OJ every morning before I ate. I have been taking this for 4 months now. I have felt better than I have in a long time. NO BLOATING EVER!!!! I lost 2 inches on my waistline and NO, NOT WEIGHTLOSS. I weigh exactly the same, just lost 2 inches of gut (bloating and noticeable belly fat).

I have to dissolve the powder in very hot water (just enough to melt it) then I add mu OJ for taste. It works for me and I am happy. Feel good, people ask if I lost weight and I thank this product because I was feeling awful before taking it. The Dr. wanted to put me on medication and limit my diet. Now I still eat what I want and feel great. I do admit, I don’t WANT or even crave so much of the junk I used to eat before. I eat that crap more sparingly now. So all in all, its been an all win for me.

Im sorry I read all these other reviews that seem to be all bad. I guess it affects everyone differently or maybe they have other issues or need to let it work through all the bad issues to get to the positive results.

Well it sounds like you have great results taking this product. My husband & myself are looking into purchasing this but there are so many bad reviews. Do you have to be on the automatic billing every month? And are you still happy with the product?

What annoys me about the presentation is that he starts out telling us that about how we can use the foods we already have in our pantry. And he is going to tell us about this superfood that is going to make us healthy. A food that is readily available. The superfood turns out to be a product, not a food.

Every one of these presentations follow the same formula, promise us information about healthy food that is readily available but end up trying to sell us a product. And most of them will put you on an auto reorder plan even when you do not authorize it. I only have to be burned once to learn my lesson.

Unfortunately, I do not trust anyone who uses this format to sell their product. Sadly I will probably miss the real miracle product because of the scam like method of selling.

Right on, Alice! Sadly, it seems, the desire for wealth distorts the good stuff contained in the efforts of so many “better health crusaders.” It then becomes very difficult to figure out who to trust.

I have seen Dr Gundry on I do not know how many commercials advertising all sort of things. The one thing that sticks out when I listen to this “spiel” is the fact that he states emphatically that Helicobactor Pylori is a “good” bug. I guess he has not had the experience of having H. Pylori or I think he might change his mind. Or maybe the Gastroenterologists that treated me know nothing about what they are saying. Also, the irritating music overwhelms so that 99% of the dialogue can not be understood. Yes, I know subliminal trick intentionally used.

Good catch Alice.
Send Dr Guntry an email with your concern and share his response or lack of one with me. He should have stated the foods in our pantry, unless his sharing of dark chocolate, extra virgin olive oil and coffee – no milk no sugar counts tho’ not quite enough!

Dr Gundry is full of it all he does is talk about how wonderful he is then sells you a crop of shit I have never had any result (at least not good) from anything I have purchase from him. Wake up people .. all I I hear when he talks is blah blah blah his products are guaranteed but try getting your money back he is a joke.

I have tried Prebiothrive and it has worked great! I feel so much better. I eat healthy so I know that helps. I know a lot of people who think just taking prebiothrive will help and still eat bad and wonder why they’re not feeling better. I think it’s a combination. You have to eat healthy!

Someone should do research on how many people turn these presentations off after 3 minutes of Bla, Bla, Bla . Get to the point please!
You may reach way more people if you keep it short and to the point.

Hi Aria, I detest these kind of presentations. You put it in a video window that will not show you how long (and drawn out) it is going to be. It follows the recent wave of presentation formulas that want to make you feel you’ve invested so much time into watching that you might as well stick it out. How much longer can he blather on. They start out presenting an interminable resume and then keep promising we’re going now going to finally show you what you’ve been wanting to see. And then then trick you into more meaningless video to make you invest more time again. I truly wanted to hear what the doctor had to say. I truly did not need to hear him tell me 8 times he was 70 lbs overweight, etc,, etc., etc.
I am further frustrated by his calling this a superfood, suggesting we can buy it at a grocery store and then making me feel tricked by a product I have to buy. I would have given serious consideration to buying it, but I feel like he’s a snake oil salesman. The presentation has totally turned me off and makes me feel cheated and he owes me an hour of my life back.

I agree with Alice! This is very shady when you start out saying all the stuff you need is probably in your cabinets right now! I’m on disability, I don’t have money to waste on something that costs so much! Ok no tomatoes do that already make my migraines worse! No grains manageable, etc. etc. But, then suddenly do this….no way!

So true. I have fallen for watching these (infomercial) presentations a few times, and it’s definitely a formula. One big sales pitch. They drag out the answer and keep telling g you what you want to hear, like how ‘you don’t have to give up foods you love, it’s already in your pantry’, and the like. ‘But before I tell you, let me explain…blah blah blah’. Maybe hoping we forgot what they said before? Then, sure enough, bread (grain) is one of the bad guys, which is a food I love! And then of course, the expensive product pitch. How would this already be in my pantry??? Good grief!

What I didn’t like was when I ordered it, he kept trying to sell me another product, then another, then another (6) in all! 😡 I hate that selling strategy! Why can’t people just be real and not so damned greedy? I did order it. I’m gonna try it for 7 days and if I don’t feel anything positive, I’m sending it back and getting a refund.

January 1, 2018 12:11 PM

I watched the video ad for PrebioThrive. A lot of time was spent during the video explaining how once the good microbes are in place, they send messages for us to eat foods that promote their growth. In order words it’s a beneficial cycle that should continuously regenerate on its own once established. Why is it then necessary to keep taking the daily supplement forever?

October 31, 2018 11:29 PM
Reply to  Darrell

I was wondering that too…..There is the obvious answer and that is that if you stop taking it they don’t make as much money. Isn’t that what the whole video is about.

February 17, 2018 12:42 PM

I would like to know why the bottle says there are 30 servings and when I received the bottles they were half full so I actually counted out the scoops and one bottle had 21 scoops and the other bottle only had 22 scoops. I didn’t count the other 2 bottles. I ordered 4 total. When I called they said it was approximately 30 servings. I’m sorry but the bottle does not say “approximately”, it actually says “30 servings : Net weight: 10.6 oz (300g). I feel as though this is false advertisement on this bottle. If you order this product beware and take the time to count out your scoops.

I tend to be a skeptic and am wary of claims about supplements. I first learned of Dr. Gundry through his book “Plant Paradox.” In reading, it occurred to me that he had found the common thread between several of the popular diet trends. He was showing why each of the trends have benefits while not quite reaching their full potential. He shows the missing elements and pulls them together into a highly effective dietary lifestyle. At the center of this lifestyle is gut health. While not entirely necessary, Prebiothrive can contribute targeted support of that gut health.

I’ve used Prebiothrive for over three months and counting. Between the dietary program, Prebiothrive and Vital Reds, I have experienced higher levels of energy, greatly improved mental clarity and focus, substantially reduced joint pain, and the loss of 21 pounds! These are the results of a 65 year old male that started with a weight of 302 lbs.

Are these results typical? I don’t know. Will this program and supplements work for everyone? I don’t know. What I do know is that this has been a God Send for me.

Don’t fall for this scheme! This is a subscription! Once you give them your account information, they intend to deduct the same amount or more EVERY MONTH, whether you need or want any more of the product! If they send you another heavy box of 3 containers of Prebiothrive, they will not pay for your return shipping and there’s no guarantee that they will take you off of the monthly shipment merry-go-round!

As with all auto-credit card payments, your bank only requires that you inform the provider (email is sufficient) that you want to discontinue periodic deliveries and auto-payments. Once you have done this, your bank should block all future payments/charges (even if the provider continues to send you product).

Makes me wonder if they know what they’re talking about when they don’t know it’s Agave INULIN not INSULIN. Not the same thing at all. And it does have side effects. For me, within hours I had terrible flattulance and repeated visits to the bathroom. Too much fiber at once and guar gum doesn’t settle well for a lot of people.

THE COMPANY SHOULD ISSUE AN IMMEDIATE REFUND UPON RECEIVING A CALL AND IMMEDIATELY PROVIDE A RETURN LABEL! This company should be shut down!

Maureen, it is possible that the bathroom visits were just a detox effect. I’ve used lots of natural products over the years, and sometimes starting a new supplement can cause a detox effect which can manifest itself in the form of a bad headache or frequent bathroom visits for me. Drinking lots of water to flush things through quickly is usually the fastest way to remedy this.
Just a thought. ?

Detox is common when a product works to eliminate the toxins from an acidic body.

Listened to the “promo” for this product. Interesting info but as a nurse thought “too good to be true?” Read many articles/opinions & learned they don’t answer their phone and have poor customer service . One site had reviews the first page had all but one were 5 stars. I did not read anymore. No product has that many 5 star reviews. This major factor is MY RED FLAG and likely too good to be true.

We pride ourselves in our customer service, and we do everything we can to ensure that each customer is having an overall positive experience. If a customer leaves a negative review, it’s my job to make sure their issues are resolved as quickly as possible. Would you be interested in a free sample of PrebioThrive? I have been taking the Prebiotic Supplement for about a month now and I have gained 10 pounds and have no problems going to the restroom. The product gives me terrible gas which I have to make several trips to the restroom. The product does not have a bad taste, a little grainy but that is to be expected with any supplement. I do not see any difference with my energy level which I find a little disappointing.

Aria, your answer sounds the same for everyone with a complaint/dislike /concern of the product. Instead of quickly resulting to a refund , try asking more personal questions or solutions to your clients so they may feel better about their purchase of Dr. Gundry’s product and suggest different ways/methods to taking the product. Now if that does not work then you result in their full refund but at the customer will feel more comfortable/better that you are compassionate about their well being instead of treating it like a damage appliance. As for me, I will try Dr. Gundry’s product because lets face it we all tried products out there that were false hoping but tried it any way hoping it will a better product to help us with our journey for a healthier body and healthier life. I just want the gimmicks to STOP and really want these people promoting their products stand behind it instead of I feel not caring and quick to the give the money back. I want something that truly works and also have a choice for auto-pay or not.

Hi Belle, although you have an interesting idea, I think its tricky to pursue the compassionate questioning when 1. person already feels negative about it and 2. this is not a patient of Dr Gundry’s. It would be challenging and perhaps unethical to offer anything that suggests medical or health advice in anyway when not their patient, so starting to question the person is bordering on diagnosing a health situation. Its better for person to find a Doctor who knows something about this stuff IF the person wishes to pursue it further and isn’t conclusively negative.
I believe Aria did suggest in one of these replies for person to consult doctor.
In anycase, there are many, many viewpoints here, so its great to include yours.

We listened to your talk about lectins and how bad they are. Why are you not addressing the removal of lectins from your digestive system with the use of certain specific sugars, such as N-acetyl glucosamine? We ordered the PrebioThrive with the assumption that it would be addressing the Lectin issue as well as the prebiotic issue.

Me and my mother-in-law I watched the video about this product. Seems pretty amazing.. My mother in law who had thyroid cancer. And now she no longer has a thyroid.. Currently is on antibiotics for a kidney infection… Plus multiple health issues along with her husband who has chronic heart burn and is always tired. We thought I’d be good to give it a try… But a three pack. After Searching the Internet. And watching review videos reading reviews. I’ve decided it doesn’t sound like it’s as amazing as This guy said. And one other thing how come if it’s posted nourish your Good bugs or microbes and start the bad ones by do you need to keep taking it. Shouldn’t at some point all your good microbes be restored to full working order and you don’t need to take it? Would you need to have a subscription and keep doing it? So I think we’re gonna pass even though it sounded like it was the answer to all of their problems. I think it sounds too good to be true.

Stephanie, I just wanted to comment on the part of your post and someone else’s that too that ask, “once the good bugs are in and the bad ones out, why do you need to keep taking it?” I can answer that question. It’s because nothing in our body stays the same. Our body’s chemistry is constantly changing. I have my hormones, vitamin levels, and minerals measured via blood work once a year. Then my doctor will tweak my supplements as needed. As we age, our bodies might not produce the same amount of a hormone it once did, environmental changes effect our vitamin levels, every toxin we breathe or eat effects our body chemistry. We are ever changing human beings. ?
