Testogen success story: How I regained my confidence, my libido and my six pack
As someone who’s been addicted to weights all my life, struggling with testosterone issues was probably the farthest thing in my mind.
If someone would have told me in my mid-20s, that ten years from now, I’d be struggling to haul myself into the gym or that I’d find it impossible to get my wiener working, I’d have choked them under the 400 lbs. Olympic bar that I used to bench every three days.
Or I’d have dropped that 500 lbs. deadlift bar on them.
I could stack and rack em bars, I tell ya.
That was for sissies and desktop snow bellies.
Not for an alpha male, third-generation lumberjack like me who can still bring down a large Sequoia with an axe, de-limb it and haul it all the way to the truck.
Only, all my fallacies came crashing down after my 32nd birthday.
My name is Michael Griggs and this is my success story.
The Natural weight lifting years
Unlike children who spend a good part of their childhood playing video games, I spent most of my leisure time with my dad in the woods.
He was a logger contracted by a local sawmill. A brute of a man. 6’3, 240 lbs.
I on the other hand was extremely scrawny and even hauling his old Collin’s axe from the car to the woods was painstakingly difficult.
The old man encouraged me to take up lifting. He bought me a VHS of ‘Hercules in New York’ and seeing the Austrian Oak in his prime was enough motivation for me to get started.
By the time I was 16, I was benching 350 lbs.
For a while, I even contemplated going pro in bodybuilding. But that meant dabbling in anabolics and that was something that I wasn’t ready for.
Most of my gym buddies did graduate towards steroids and every single one of them is now on TRT.
Me however continued to enjoy natural bodybuilding.
Never had a problem with building muscle either.
At the age of 23, I met Mabel at a Natural Bodybuilding event and fell head over heels for her.
After a whirlwind romance, we got married and had three beautiful girls.
The Thirties and depleting Testosterone levels
After my old man suffered a fall six years ago and got a herniated disc, I took over the company which meant that I had to give up some of my gym time.
That didn’t stop me from lifting. Only, I was spending a lot less time in the gym.
In the next few years, I gained a few pounds here and there.
The ripped abdominal section was replaced by a tiny bit of fat. I had love handles too for the first time.
Nothing overly fat or anything. But yeah, I had gone from being beefed and ripped to having a dad-bod.
The Low-T symptoms though began after I hit 30.
It started with lethargy in the morning. I just didn’t have the desire to get up and get going.
I just shrugged it off as normal fatigue from working extra hours to keep up with the demands of a family.
Then there was further, rather dramatic loss in muscle tone. I attributed it to the lack of serious lifting and decided to set up a gym at home rather than shirking it entirely.
To my dismay, I wasn’t even able to bench 200 lbs. I kept at it though.
Three months later, I was still maxing at 225 lbs.
Alarm bells rung though when I suffered my first bout of erectile dysfunction. Mabel just laughed it off.
But I was not ready to shrug it off. No sir!
My male ego was bruised and I intended to get it remedied as soon as I could.
‘You have the T-levels of an 85-year old man’
After I met a doctor and spoke to him at length about my symptoms, he referred me to an endocrinologist.
After a physical, the reports came back.
My Testosterone levels were 175 ng/dl.
It was a shocker.
The Endocrinologist asked me to up my Vitamin D3 intake with supplementation (sure I was getting enough of the sun already), increase my intake of healthy fats and get the levels rechecked after six months.
My libido woes continued. I just didn’t feel like having sex at all.
Each day, I would drag myself out of bed and head to work. I was outsourcing a lot of the physically demanding work, which I would have done myself a couple of years earlier.
I felt miserable all day. No focus, no energy, no will to do anything.
Six months later, I underwent the second round of tests.
The numbers were worse. It had slipped down to 140 ng/dl.
The endocrinologist told me that I had the test levels of an 85-year old man and that I’d have to hop on to Testosterone replacement for life.
Refusing to pin for life
For the next two weeks, I read up just about everything that I could find on TRT.
It was mostly positive stuff on how people had changed their lives by pinning Testosterone-Cyp injections once or twice a week.
I even visited an upscale TRT clinic who were all too happy to dole out information on how my life would change for the better.
But deep down, I knew I wasn’t ready for that lifestyle. (No offense to anyone who is)
I visited my doctor again and confessed to him about my reservations about hopping on to TRT at the age of 32.
My introduction to Testogen
It was him who then recommended that I try a natural testosterone booster by the name of Testogen.
As a gym buff, I had seen and tried my share of Testosterone boosters and developed a strong averseness towards them.
None of them had worked.
In fitness circles, they were known as overpriced money-grabs and were only used by hapless, desperate, scrawny novices who would do anything to get jacked.
My immediate reaction surprised my doctor, who told me that Testogen was extremely well received by countless men struggling with low T.
He even gave me some references of people who had used the supplement for months, so that I could speak to them.
That evening, I dutifully called five of them and asked them about their experience with Testogen.
Every single one of them had only positive things to say about it.
I was still skeptical. But I was willing to give it a shot.
That night, I ordered a month’s supply off their official website which you can find over here.
What is Testogen?
Testogen is an all-natural testosterone booster that contains a blend of botanical extracts, vitamins and amino acids that work in synergy to boost your levels of serum testosterone and free, bioavailable testosterone.
The second part is very important.
You see you may have normal levels of serum Test. But that doesn’t do anything to improve how you feel.
What you need is optimum levels of free, bioavailable testosterone that’s not bound by Sex hormone binding globulin or SHBG.
That’s why synthetic testosterone is so popular. It increases your levels of both, total testosterone as well as free testosterone.
Most testosterone boosters might only help increase total test by a fraction. Not sufficient to make any difference to how you feel.
But Testogen does both, or so it’s claimed.
What are the ingredients in Testogen?
Firstly, I reached out to the company (Wolfson Berg Limited) and spoke to a very nice lady who shared their product information brochure with me.
You can find it over here.
I wasn’t popping a single pill without knowing what was inside it. I had read enough horror stories of supplements being laced with prohormones and steroids.
She was very helpful and told me about the 11-ingredients that make up Testogen.
Much to my surprise, most of them are scientifically proven to increase Testosterone levels in men who have low T. All 11 of them have some positive influence on your hormonal profile or on erectile dysfunction.
D-Aspartic Acid: Also known as D-AA, this amino acid has been clinically proven to increase the levels of Testosterone. In one clinical study, it increased testosterone levels by a whopping 42% in men with low T. (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19860889) D-AA works by stimulating the release of Luteinizing hormone, which in turn helps release more testosterone. In fact, it may even help release GH. Testogen contains a whopping 2352 milligrams of D-AA.
Nettle leaf extract 4:1: While Nettle Leaf Extracts are more popularly known for its positive effect on urine flow in people with an enlarged prostate, there has been enough positive research that suggests that it does increase testosterone in men. (https://www.researchgate.net/publication/242466034_A_comprehensive_review_on_the_stinging_nettle_effect_and_efficacy_profiles_Part_II_Urticae_radix)
Red Ginseng Extract 4:1: Red Ginseng, also known as Korean Red Ginseng or Asian Red Ginseng has been proven to increase both serum and free testosterone levels. It is also a very powerful natural treatment for erectile dysfunction and greatly improves the quality of erections. (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3861174/)
Fenugreek Extract 4:1: The humble Fenugreek has been clinically proven to increase testosterone levels by 46% in athletic men. What’s more important though is that 90% of the participants in that study experienced the positive effects which include reduced body fat, increase in LBM and improved mood. (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2978122/)
Boron: Helps metabolize total testosterone into free, bioavailable testosterone which can give you all the positive effects of high T. A clinical trial revealed that supplementing with Boron can increase your free T levels by as much as 25%. (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24783351)
Bioperine: While Bioperine does little to increase Testosterone on its own, it does help in the absorption of all the other ingredients in Testogen.
With all this research to back it up with, I was pretty convinced that Testogen definitely had the potential to work.
But would it be as good as most people were touting it to be?
I was about to find out first hand.
My experience with Testogen
On a beautiful sunny day, I stripped down to my skivvies and took time stamped pictures.
I popped open the bottle. The capsules aren’t too big. I could gulp two of them down with a glass of juice. An hour later, no disgusting aftertaste or nasty burps.
For the next six days, I didn’t notice any huge difference in my energy levels or in my body composition.
I was almost beginning to get disappointed.
Week 2: On the first Monday of the second week after starting Testogen, I noticed that I could wake up a lot easier. The lethargy in the mornings were replaced by a feeling of mental clarity and focus. Midway through this week, I also started to get the feeling to hit the gym. It was almost a year since I had lifted. But that evening, I went to the gym and benched 150 lbs. Not bad for a start, I thought.
Week 3: Woke up with a rock hard morning wood! I was over the moon. The libido came back with a rage almost. I was horny all day and later that night, had the best sex of my life. What surprised me was the volume of the ejaculate. It was better than what it had been for a long time. The gym sessions continued all week and kept getting better. In just one week, my bench progressed from 150 to 250. Squats were back in the 350 lbs. range.
Week 4: I stripped down again and took pictures. The muscles were beginning to pop out. The good old bicep nerve that had disappeared under a layer of fat had also made a comeback. It was just incredible. From not having sex in a year, we had gone to having sex every two days. Mabel wasn’t complaining for sure.
I continued to use Testogen for the next two months and by then, I had dropped down 18 lbs., which I believe was mostly body fat. My abdominals were visible again.
The best compliment came from my doctor though. He thought that I had taken the plunge and hopped on to TRT! Lol!
The effects of Testogen
To sum things up, here are some of the effects that I felt with Testogen.
- My mood improved a lot. I felt positive all day with the desire to hit the gym.
- My libido just went through the roof. Sex never felt any better.
- The quality of erections was incredible. Rock hard and lasted a lot longer than I usually did.
- I dropped body fat, particularly at the belly.
- My muscles got harder and had that gym pump all day.
- Vascularity improved.
- After six months of Testogen, I went for a physical again and my Testosterone numbers had changed dramatically. As unbelievable as it sounds, from 175 ng/dl, I had gone to 535 ng/dl.
Don’t let big pharma fool you into believing otherwise and enslave you for life with TRT injections.
Give this a shot. Am sure you won’t regret it.
