Total Restore Review – Boost Your Energy and Reduce Leaky Gut?Total Restore by Gundry MD

4.6/5 (5 votes)

Chronic pain, feeling lethargic, and not being at top performance are some of the worst conditions to live with. There can be many causes for feeling this way, with physicians often looking towards mental health, such as depression. However, one of the common causes that is rarely discussed is leaky gut. In this condition, zonulin, a protein, breaks free from the intestinal lining. The result is that undigested food and, potentially, toxic microbes, enter the bloodstream. If you believe that you may have leaky gut, then it is important to seek medical advice. You could also try taking a supplement, preferably after discussing this with your physician. Gundry MD Total Restore is one such supplement.

What Is Leaky Gut Syndrome?

According to the Mayo Clinic, so-called “tight junctions” separate the content of the intestines and the body. These tight junctions are single cell layers and it is now known that these cells are dynamic, meaning they can open and close depending on pathogens, neuronal signals, and dietary factors. Sometimes, they fail to function properly with the result that certain substances, such as endotoxins, can leak into the bloodstream. This results into aches and pains, food sensitivities, cramps, gas, bloating, and more, which are known to be the symptoms of a “leaky gut”. It has been observed that patients with Crohn’s disease and celiac disease often have this condition.

Medical professionals, meanwhile, still do not really fully comprehend leaky gut. Some believe it is a symptom of Crohn’s and celiac disease, whereas others believe it is a condition on its own. What they do all agree on is that when someone is diagnosed with leaky gut, it means further investigations have to be conducted to determine whether there are other issues at hand as well.

The Johns Hopkins Integrative Medicine and Digestive Center agrees with this. They state that there is no real understanding of the causes and treatment of leaky gut. Hence, it is important that medical professionals are involved every step of the way. And it also seems that many now recommend that people use Total Restore by Steven Gundry MD.

Who Is Steven Gundry MD?

This medical professional specializes in cardiovascular disease. He is also trained as a thoracic surgeon. He graduated in the 1970s from Georgia School of Medicine’s Medical College. Since graduating and starting work, he has developed and patented nine different surgical devices for cardiac procedures. His focus now is mainly on nutrition. He has written a number of nutritional books, including “Dr. Gundry’s Diet Revolution” and “The Plant Paradox”.

He founded Gundry MD in 2016. The company has manufactured a number of popular supplements, including Glucose Defense, Prebiothrive, Lectin Shield, and Vital Reds. The company has an A rating with the BBB (Better Business Bureau). Total Restore is one of the company’s most popular products.

What Is Gundry MD Total Restore?

Total Restore is a new type of supplement developed by Dr. Gundry himself. The formula is described as a completely natural, safe, and effective solution that helps to strengthen the lining of the gut, thereby preventing leaky gut. Total Restore is made up of 16 different natural ingredients, all of which work in synergy with each other for maximum effect. The product does not contain any fillers, harmful additives, or chemicals.

The blend has been designed to make the lining of the gut to be much healthier. In so doing, the body is protected from an overload of endotoxins. Mainly, it promotes full body wellness. According to the company, users can expect a reduction in all leaky gut symptoms, including constipation, diarrhea, bloating, and gas. Furthermore, it increases energy, stops joints and muscles from aching, and helps to fight cravings for certain foods.

To benefit from the product, you need to take three tablets per day, together with the biggest meal. Alternatively, you can take one capsule at three different intervals, although most people find they benefit more if they take them in one go. Those who have used the product have consistently reported that, within just a few days, they feel better overall, experiencing increased energy levels and better digestion. After two to three weeks, the most dramatic results become evident.

Supplement Facts and Ingredients

Total Restore Ingredients

There are many products on the market today that claim to improve digestion and intestinal health. However, it is more difficult to find products that focus specifically on leaky gut, and even harder to find products that have been developed by someone as renowned as Dr. Gundry. When he claims that a product helps to improve overall heath, digestion, and energy levels, it is reasonable to assume he is right. What further sets the product apart is that it works so quickly. The brand itself claims it takes just a matter of days to become effective, and it seems that those who have used it agree. The full results tend to be noticeable after about two or three weeks, which is a relatively short period of time.

The following ingredients are listed on the Gundry MD website, which prides itself on complete transparency, therefore also including the amounts:

  • 7mg of magnesium

  • 2mg of zinc

  • 213mg of L-Glutamine

  • 142mg of N-Acetyl D-Glucosamine

  • 86mg of magnesium beta-hydroxybutyrate

  • 58 grape seed extract

  • 54mg of licorice roots powder

  • 50mg of wormwood powder

  • 50mg of cinnamon bark powder

  • 34mg of maitake mushroom extract

  • 22mg of VitaBerry (organic cranberry, elderberry, tart cherry, blueberry, raspberry, and strawberry)

  • 17g of cloves buds powder

  • 17 mg of black pepper seeds powder

  • 17 mg of grapefruit seeds extract

  • 10mg of marshmallow roots powder

  • 10mg of zinc L-carnosine (Pepsin GI)

  • 3mg of berberine bark powder

These are all ingredients that have been scientifically demonstrated to help digestive and intestinal issues. Hence, they increase people’s overall quality of life. Most importantly, the ingredients are not just effective, they are also very safe. This means that people don’t have to be as concerned about potential side effects. That said, it is always vital to seek the opinion of a medical professional before taking any kind of product, even if it is a natural supplement.

Considering the fact that no treatment currently exists for leaky gut, those who suffer from it will be happy to hear that a product like Total Restore is available. Considering, as well, that so many people seem to have benefited from it, it really seems to provide a ray of hope. Clinical evidence shows that the ingredients included in Total Restore, and particularly magnesium, have helped people who suffer from GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease), which shares some similarities with leaky gut. This evidence has been confirmed by the Natural Medicines Database,, and WebMD, all trusted scientific sources. Evidence has also shown licorice to be beneficial in digestion.

Possible Side Effects

It is very important to find out whether side effects are associated with taking any kind of product. The Gundry MD website lists that Total Restore is completely safe and effective to be used daily for most people. However, they do say you should speak to a physician first, to determine whether there are no adverse effects associated with any other medical condition you have, or medication (prescription, over the counter, herbal, or supplemental) that you take.

Specifically, there is a small concern with licorice, because there is a potential safety issue for those who use it in large quantities, as it can affect blood pressure. Marshmallow roots, meanwhile, can cause low blood pressure. Grapefruit is known to interact with different types of medications, which is another reason why you should speak to a physician first.

If you believe that you are suffering from leaky gut and you would like to increase your overall quality of life, then Total Restore may just be the right product for you.

Why is there a high price on it? I would like to try it but I can’t afford it. Is there a little better price then this?

Hi Rose, I have the same problem……..its really pricey and if you go to a vitamin store, you can buy the individual ingredients that are much less expensive. I don’t know why these guys are so greedy?

Through the video presentation the cost is $49.95, but you can get there without watching the video.

Is taking the total restore an everyday thing the rest of your life or until you get your leaky gut symptoms under control?

I’m starting to get cramps after taking for 3 days now. Is that unusual?

Is there a point where use is no longer needed – or is this a “for life” thing? All debate aside, if it does as stated and repairs the holes created, once the repairs are completed is it recommended to discontinue or reduce usage? This is pricey as it is, but life time use would add up to crazy money.

I’ve read that there’s a lot of caffeine in them, that ordering can be difficult, poor customer service … So I’m cautious.
If you watch the 55 minute video, there is reportedly a link to a discounted price.

I don’t think there is any caffeine at all. From the ingredients list on the bottle. and I don’t feel any kind of artificial stimulant reaction; been taking 3 capsules every day first thing in the morning before any food since July 7. Only thing I noticed in the first week was an urgency to move my bowels a few hours after taking the product but that passed after the week.

Me too Elicia. It was great. Ive only been taking them for 5 days and I already feel a difference in my bloating problem!

Just ordered. Can’t wait to receive. Did you lose any weight? And have you noticed a change in health for the better?

I watched video and found code for 10%off online, so I only paid $45+4.95’shipping

I am pretty sure that is a one time offer.

The 90 day guarantee means nothing. They give you the wrong address number then they don’t send it nothing but excuses. I filed a complaint with consumer reports if I don’t get my money back im going to the FBI. He is nothing but a scam artist.

I am on immunosuppressive medications. Is this product safe for kidney/pancreas transplant people?

Is Total Restore safe to take with red rice yeast? I currently take it to help lower my cholesterol.

Do you know of anyone using it, or havi g tried it and seen results?

I recently ordered total restore but was sent vital reds instead. Not sure why this happened so I reordered total restore tablets. I hope this doesn’t happen twice. Kylie
